Synopsis:

Kim Yun-hee disguises herself as a man and takes the state examination successfully for her sick brother, and she enters Sungkyunkwan. She meets Lee Seon-jun, Mun Jae-sin, and Gu Yong-ha as she starts the life in Sungkyunkwan. It is the Joseon Dynasty version of a campus love story.

Park Yoo Chun as Lee Sun Joon

He is the only son of a noble family that has been the power of the country for generations. He is handsome, smart, and a good writer and has a good figure and a good family background. He is so principled that he never allows expediency. He meets Yun-hee when she takes the state examination for someone else, and she ends up becoming his roommate. He doesn’t like her at first. Over time, he realizes that she is the only person who understands his principled life style, and he falls in love with her. And then he gets confused about himself loving a disguised ‘man’.

She is smart and a person who can do anything to get by. Unlike her delicate appearance, she is strong, responsible, and independent. After she lost her father in her childhood and her family became worse off, she makes a living and buys her sick brother’s medicine by selling her talent for writing. After many twists and turns, she becomes a student of Sungkyunkwan disguised as a man. Although she disagrees on every single thing with Seon-jun, she becomes to understand him. As she comes to like him, she suffers from her feelings for him.

He is a son of a rich family that dominates the business world. He has been taught by the best teacher in town since childhood. Since he is disappointed with the people at Sungkyunkwan, fighting for rights in order to live in splendor, Yong-ha, who has everything, does only things that arouse his interest. He finds out Yun-hee is a woman, but he sees that she never gives up and always looks confident. Now, he wants to change himself.

Yoo Ah In as Moon Jae Shin

Being branded as a crazy horse, he is out of control. He says things as he feels and acts as he likes. He hates his father’s opportunistic conducts as a politician, and their emotions run deep. Though he comes to Sungkyunkwan on the purpose of becoming a different politician from his father, he despairs at the scene of Sunkyunkwan which is a miniature copy of the real political world. Then one day, he meets Yun-hee and wants to protect her. He wants to start a new life with Yun-hee, Seon-jun who had always been a thorn in his side, and his best friend Yong-ha.
